VOTE NO ON 3A AND 3B ON NOVEMBER’S BALLOT
[Note: This is an introduction to SEL. Jane Robbins’ article on SEL. More information on SEL and why to vote against 3A and 3B in Blog 0140.]
WHAT SCHOOLS IN GENERAL ARE NOT TEACHING — WHY?
H.L. Mencken wrote in The American Mercury in April 1924
that the aim of public education is not:
“…to fill the young of the species with knowledge and awaken their intelligence… Nothing could be further from the truth. The aim… is simply to reduce as many individuals as possible to the same safe level, to breed and train a standardized citizenry, to put down dissent and originality. That is its aim in the United States… ”
[quotation 9 on the quotations page of this website]
Worldwide, education has become a coordinated effort to control the minds and bodies of all people. That has always been the goal under dictatorships (Marxism, Socialism, Communism, etc.) The nature of dictatorships is to program the minds of adults and children (from birth to death) — in order to contain and manipulate them.
Schools, in general, are not teaching students
to be able: to read; to love reading; to write (in schools cursive is not in the national standards, and almost no printing is taught); to be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide; to memorize the abc’s, math tables, names/dates . . .; to research outside the limited material that is provided and recommended by school curriculum; to learn from history, including knowledge of of America’s founding; to learn to think independently and to communicate; to debate and defend positions logically; to learn about and discuss different faiths without condemnation of the faiths or condemnation of the people within the faiths, or those talking about the faiths (including Christianity and Judaism).
Schools in general are censoring what students can say about political philosophies (like Nazism, Socialism, Communism, Fascism, Republics, Democracies, Oligarchies, Monarchies) ….
WHY all the controlled censorship and carefully structured fabrication of false “history” that avoids basic U.S. History and avoids the U.S. Constitution and our Bill of Rights? These were written to protect us from a tyrannical government.
“SEL” – Social and Emotional Learning – one of the education
methods meant to prevent freedom of speech, thought and behavior — was incorporated into federal law last November.
See this link below to Jane Robbins’ work that will be featured in Blog 0140:
[Jane Robbins’ August 8, 2016 Townhall.com analysis of SEL:
[A link to a site that pro SEL — for Social and Emotional Learning:
Social and Emotional Learning (SEL), is just an extension and “improvement” of the not-so-new methods that have been used to actually mold and control minds, and make everyone uniform and willing to obey directions.
Congress voted to re-authorize the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), and President Obama signed it into law November 10, 2015. The new re-authorization is called Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). This 1,061 page document was passed quickly by both republicans and democrats. Are you tired of elected officials passing laws they haven’t read or understood?
The version previous to ESSA, was Bush’s “No Child Left Behind” (NCLB), which in effect federalized education in this country, and placed requirements on schools that guaranteed failure. Through Race to the Top (RTTT), Common Core then made tighter the knot that connected the control of schools, to federal funding. RTTT stipulated that states could only receive funding that they had become dependent upon, IF they agreed to implement Common Core and the associated assessments. This further entrapped states. Should our elected officials have said no to the federal government, and tried to break away from the federal threats, instead of give away more of our voice as a state?
Does this sound like extortion?
What was done through RTTT sounds similar to the definition of extortion below.
“Extortion is a crime in which one person forces another person to do something against his will, generally to give up money or other property, by threat of violence, property damage, damage to the person’s reputation, or extreme financial hardship. Extortion involves the victim’s consent to the crime, but that consent is obtained illegally.”
States were told they would have to give up Title I money, if they didn’t consent to jumping on board with Common Core and the associated mandatory assessments.
The penalty for extortion varies
“Penalties for extortion vary widely in different states and depend on the severity of the threats involved, but sentences generally range between 2 to 4 years. However, many states allow for sentences of 5, 10, or even 20 years. If any instrument of interstate commerce (such as the mail, a phone, or a computer) is used in commission of the crime, it also becomes a federal crime with a fine or sentence of up to 20 years. “
ESSA, the most recent re-authorization, has national mandates that are even more controlling than NCLB; and SEL is part of the new ESSA. RED FLAGS should be going up. Isn’t controlling the minds of people, what dictatorships do? Should our schools be in that business?
Who is behind the mind-control — and for what purposes?
Read between the lines of the description of SEL. Keep asking yourself: “Who decided that schools should be controlled on a uniform federal level and that education is supposed to specifically mold the attitudes, beliefs and behaviors of our children? Isn’t that the role of the parents, the family, the individual, the community, and the church? Who will decide the “right” standard attitudes, beliefs and behaviors — or the “right” standard emotions? What are the “wrong” ones? How is compliance to be enforced? Should whoever is behind all this, have all this control? How does this control line up with our Constitutional Republic?
Remember, God “is not allowed in the schools.” A reasonable question is “Why not?” Given that God is left out of the public schools, what federal attitudes, beliefs and behaviors are being infused into the minds of our children? Into what are our children being molded?
REVEALING QUOTES ON THE GOALS OF PSYCHIATRY AND PSYCHOLOGY
“Education is thus a most power ally of humanism, and every public school is a school of humanism. What can the theistic Sunday school, meeting for an hour once a week, and teaching only a fraction of the children, do to stem the tide of a five-day program of humanistic teachings?”
On the pro-SEL site (CASEL):
1) You will find on this site (http://www.casel.org/social-and-emotional-learning/) words that give the impression that SEL is the perfect pill to cure all school problems. They list problems, but I wonder how they REALLY define what they consider to be the PROBLEMS? I wonder what role the schools have played in creating problems?
2) You will see at the top of the left column on CASEL’s twitter page, (CASEL is Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning): (https://twitter.com/caselorg):
They want social and emotional control of all children, as soon as possible after birth.
How does “the state’s” picture of the role of parents?
People in control nationally are determined to take children away from the care of their parents as soon after birth as possible. Ironically parents, who are being left out or the rearing of their own children, seem to be clamoring to have free full-time national care for their children from birth through 18. I hope parents will stop and find out what their children are being exposed to in school – even on the preschool level.
Question: If the state is training preschool children
what to think, how to think, how to interact, what to believe, and what emotions to have or not to have — what standards are being used to choose the content of what they are taught?
“God has not been allowed in the classrooms” for decades, so the standards are neither Christian or Jewish-based.
So what attitudes, beliefs and behaviors are being infused into the minds of our children? Additionally, where is free time, time to think or vegetate and do nothing, or time to explore just for fun; where in this picture are the parents, grandparents and other relatives, and the church? Where can a child be an individual, and be free of pressures to prepare to perform for assessments; why are they being inundated with questionnaires to be filled out on unlimited subjects? Where is safety from psychological training and oversight? There is only relentless nationally-standardized conditioning taking place that si designed to have children to all become alike.
CASEL CLAIMS SEL EMPOWERS CHILDREN
The CASEL website states:
“The Missing Piece A National Teacher Survey on
How Social and Emotional Learning Can Empower Children and Transform Schools”
Designing the mind and emotions of a very young or older child doesn’t sound like “empowering” a child. It actually takes away all “power” from children. This lie about imparting power (or freedom) is the typical lie of those whose goals are to control the lives of other people…to control the “outcomes.”
BRACKEN’S YOUTUBE AND TRANSCRIPTION
|0074_Common Core: Subversive Threat to Education_Karen Bracken_April 8, 2013_YouTube – transcript||02/25/16|
Karen Bracken’s 2013 lecture (YouTube) exposes the people behind Common Core, rationale behind Common Core and the goals, and the Department of Education’s plans to mold each child to be a specific human resource — a human resource designed by controllers located in the United States and throughout the world.
Those in control of schooling in our country are intent on changing and controlling attitudes, beliefs and behaviors. And it is all based on what the centralized controllers decide – for their personal benefit.
These controllers are effectively aiming at something. Do you wonder what it is? Read again the H.L. Mencken’s quote at the beginning of this blog for a clue. Then read below a little about H.L. Mencken.
NOTE: Who was H.L. Mencken?
“Henry Louis Mencken (September 12, 1880 – January 29, 1956) was an American journalist, satirist, cultural critic and scholar of American English. Known as the “Sage of Baltimore”, he is regarded as one of the most influential American writers and prose stylists of the first half of the twentieth century. As a scholar Mencken is known for The American Language, a multi-volume study of how the English language is spoken in the United States. . . He commented widely on the social scene, literature, music, prominent politicians and contemporary movements.”
H.L. Mencken was a committed atheist, intent on destroying everything good in this country. His influence was great.
