Shouldn’t teachers and administrators who encourage (or take part in) walkouts during school hours be fired?!? Shouldn’t that also be the case for ones who encourage students and teachers to walkout during school hours?
This needs to be stopped – these people are eating up our tax dollars with their tyrannical and bullying behavior. And they are causing parents and children grief (financial and emotional). They are negative role models for our children.

New Update: Teacher Walkouts Potentially Cost Taxpayers $ 13.3 Million
According to Colorado Chalkbeat, 27 Colorado school districts have cancelled classes due to the teacher walkouts scheduled later this week. Based on the average teacher salary in each district plus the cost of PERA benefits, the teacher walkouts in the 27 districts are potentially costing taxpayers $13.3 million. This figure does not include classified employees who serve at each school.

From Roberta’s letter: “All of this is not BECAUSE Trump was elected, but his election has REVEALED what already existed. The hatred and anti-Americanism was already there, . . . ”
The hateful supplemental material (Educator Resources) — recently recommended by Superintendent Jason Glass, for K-12 teachers in Jefferson County (Colorado) Public Schools — is only an expansion of what public school children have been fed for years (this includes the teaching of AP U.S. History in recent years).
At the end of this blog post, is 1) how to write and send letters to the editor; and 2) other blogs on this site, that talk about the superintendent’s new controversial resource list and curriculum. Note: The School Board of Education is supposed to decide on curriculum to be used in the classes — not the superintendent. 3) list of blogs on this site about the AP U.S. History mess.
“Trump Era Chaos”
Letter by Roberta Sutton
We’ve all noticed what chaos has emerged since Donald Trump’s election.
Right away there was a march of women against Trump who were wearing “Vagina Hats.” There has been the surfacing of Antifa with their masked assailants, and their destruction and mayhem in Berkeley. The NFL players have complaints about our police, and because of that, they refuse to honor our nation and its flag and anthem. All of them “attack” the President.
All of this is not BECAUSE Trump was elected, but his election has REVEALED what already existed. The hatred and anti-Americanism was already there, but it was stirred up and brought to the fore because someone with a different belief than theirs was in charge—and Trump was going to be leading the nation in a different direction—one they didn’t agree with. Dr. Kim Holmes will be speaking at Colorado Christian University (CCU) this coming Monday evening. Over a year ago he wrote a book The Closing of the Liberal Mind: How Groupthink and Intolerance Define the Left. Groupthink and intolerance are what is “taught” in our society, through government schools and the media in general. It has increasingly moved into law.

Our academic system in the United States is designed to keep students focused only on what the system wants them to know, or feel, or do. They are not equipped to make their own decisions, but rather to carry out the wishes of the “education” system.
At the end of this blog piece, you can watch an early 2016 YouTube with Kim Holmes talking about his new book.

In this article, Donna Garner explains how the Charlottesville situation is a product of the Obama Administration’s anti-American Common Core agenda.
At the end of her article are some resources Donna Garner sent out that reveal some background behind the problems — going back to the Common Core curriculum, which supporters of Common Core wrongly kept insisting was not curriculum.

WHO IS TO BLAME FOR CHARLOTTESVILLE?

Who was involved in the deplorable and violent events in Charlottesville, Virginia this last weekend? Our nation witnessed Black Lives Matter, White Supremacists, Anti-Trumpsters, Neo-Nazis, and the KKK yelling, screaming, fighting, cussing, destroying property, venting their rage, killing protesters, maiming bystanders, and injuring first responders.
What do these groups all have in common? They are all products of our culture, one in which the majority of our nation’s K-16 students have been indoctrinated by the Obama administration’s anti-American Common Core and the leftwing professors who populate our colleges and universities. Aided by the Democrats and the leftist media, our nation is now “reaping the whirlwind.”

There is an interesting article in the latest monthly publication of Imprimis, published by Hillsdale College.
The April 2017 featured article is based on a speech that Kimberley Strassel gave at Hillsdale College in April. You can read The Left’s War on Free Speech online at imprimis.hillsdale.edu/lefts-war-free-speech/
In light of the displays of anarchy on city streets, and also on College and University campuses — and in light of the training and conditioning of students in public schools — and the conditioning being done by most of the main-stream media, with the goal: to hate the United States of America and shut up anyone who disagrees — this article is timely.
Here are two samples from the article:
“It was at this moment that I had one of those sudden insights as a parent. I realized that my oldest was a constitutional conservative, my middle child a libertarian, and my youngest a socialist with totalitarian tendencies.”
“my main point today is that we’ve experienced over the past eight years a profound shift in our political culture, a shift that has resulted in a significant portion of our body politic holding a five-year-old’s view of free speech. What makes this shift notable is that unlike most changes in politics, you can trace it back to one day: January 21, 2010, the day the Supreme Court issued its Citizens United ruling and restored free speech rights to millions of Americans.”

A November request I made, to head off a repeat of the
Colorado Jefferson County teacher/student walkouts that took place in 2015
At the end of a Student Accountability Committee (SAC) meeting at Conifer High School, I said I hoped that the school, and the school district, had plans in place to head off any future teacher/student protests during school hours – to stop a repeat of what they did in 2015 at Conifer High School.
I commented that the school district, possibly the Superintendent of the Colorado Jefferson County Schools, should make it clear that such walkouts would not go without punishment. My request was not answered, but that might have been because it was near the end of a 2-hour meeting.
I did not realize that plans were being made to have walkouts in Jefferson County schools, and across the country, to protest Trump winning the election. Continue reading

The Conventional Wisdom in academia and in the public square is that Communism and Fascism are excessive “left”/radical liberal – and excessive “right”/radical conservative. People believe they are extremes of to much liberal and too much conservative – and that both end up in the same bad place. They are right about the results of both forms of government ending up the same for its citizens.
But these extremes can better be explained by asking the question, “How much control does government have?” The thing that unites communism and fascism is not their classification of being extreme right or left, but rather how much control government has over its citizens under fascism and communism. To what degree does government rule? How much liberty does an individual have?
This YouTube video clip explains that when all is said and done, there are really only three basic types of rule: total rule by a few people in control; balanced rule where law protects citizens and where people have a voice in their government; and the absence of any government at all. The third category is very temporary, and having no government quickly moves into total rule by a few.
