Dr. Kim Holmes will be speaking at Colorado Christian University (CCU) this coming Monday evening. Over a year ago he wrote a book The Closing of the Liberal Mind: How Groupthink and Intolerance Define the Left. Groupthink and intolerance are what is “taught” in our society, through government schools and the media in general. It has increasingly moved into law.

Our academic system in the United States is designed to keep students focused only on what the system wants them to know, or feel, or do. They are not equipped to make their own decisions, but rather to carry out the wishes of the “education” system.
At the end of this blog piece, you can watch an early 2016 YouTube with Kim Holmes talking about his new book.

Phyllis Schlafly died last September. Below you will find a message from Ed Martin today, and then the text of what Phyllis Schlafly said during one of her radio broadcasts: Religion is Part of Our Founding.
Happy Independence Day, from our Phyllis Schlafly Eagles staff and families to yours!
Today we celebrate the anniversary of our nation’s Declaration of Independence from England’s tyrannical King George. On this 241st year of our individual American republic, I am happy to bring you one of Phyllis Schlafly’s timeless reminders. That no matter what the atheists and liberal revisionists may tell you – our founding fathers were Godly men.
As these men determined an independence was needed and later built the foundation of our republic, they sought the wisdom of “Almighty Providence” often in their prayers and in the Holy Bible.
Take a listen and read Phyllis’s historic reminder for us below.
All the best.

My latest Opinion column for the Courier newspapers talks about hypocrisy in our public servants. Complete quotes (condensed here for brevity) can be found by clicking on the hyperlinks:
Selective outrage is all the rage these days. That is, what one group calls outrageous becomes perfectly acceptable behavior — so long as they’re the ones doing it.
Examples of selective outrage abound in places like Washington, D.C. and Berkeley, but we really don’t need to go that far. We can see it right in our own backyard.
Three years ago, Jeffco Public Schools found itself searching for a new leader after the superintendent resigned (and as Secretary of the Board of Education, I had a front-row seat). We hired a national search firm that specializes in public school leaders and, with their assistance, evaluated applicants until there were about half a dozen semifinalists, the identities of whom were contractually confidential. After interviewing each semifinalist, we rated them on a scoresheet provided by the executive search firm. Ultimately, the list of contenders was narrowed down to a single finalist — and that’s when the outrage began. Continue reading

Yesterday one of my all-time heroes Phyllis Schlafly, left us, and is now in heaven. She has been a great inspiration to me almost all my adult life.
Many years ago I used to listen to her radio broadcasts, and just learned today that she has been speaking regularly on the radio ever since 1983 – and was still broadcasting up until she died.
In 1972 the “Equal Rights Amendment” (ERA) was passed in both houses of Congress, and was then sent to the states for ratification. The deadline for ratification was March 22, 1979. Phyllis mobilized conservative women and men across the country, showing them how the ERA would actually hurt housewives and families. I attended a debate at Denver University during that time. She was extraordinary in the debate, as she made her case against “the Equal Rights Amendment.” Thanks to her brilliant unceasing efforts, combined with the efforts of others standing up across the country, that destructive amendment was stopped. Typically, the Left didn’t quit — and they have continued their destructive agenda. Continue reading
