 The Chicago Republican Party plans to file a lawsuit against the Chicago Public Schools (CPS) over its decision to organize students to participate in Wednesday’s student walkouts that promoted gun control.

“It’s appalling that 10 to 14-year-old kids would be coerced, by their teachers, to participate in a political demonstration,” said Chris Cleveland, chairman of the Chicago GOP, in a statement. “A 10-year-old kid isn’t going to have an informed opinion on these political matters, and shouldn’t be expected to have the fortitude to hold a different opinion from everyone else in his or her classroom. I have witnessed since my first child went to school around 1975, that the schools have been used as Change Agents – to mold our country into a socialist paradise [which is an oxymoron (a combination of contradictory or incongruous words)]. One of the first things socialist governments do as they take over is to confiscate all guns.

This walk-out today is a continuation of the efforts of the Left to take away all guns.

The schools in my part of Colorado carried out this “walk-out” tactic during school hours, to use students to give the impression that the students were rising up — because they wanted the majority of 3 republicans on the school district school board to be recalled.  Once again, it was controlled and orchestrated by the school unions.  Unions pressured teachers, and teachers pressured students into marching.  Teachers called in”sick” and did not come to school.  This put a huge burden on the school district.  Students didn’t know why they were marching, except for sound bites told to them by their teachers.

You will find that this is the case today as well.  One friend told today, that her son’s teacher told his English class that they had to protest today.  The peer pressure alone is going to empty the schools — kids don’t like to be singled out – and they don’t want to be punished with low grades, or other methods of punishment used in the classrooms.

The cause of the murders in the Broward County school district was created by their policy to stop reporting “school suspensions, expulsions, and arrests” in order to make it look like crimes were not taking place in minority communities.  Their policies preceded “The Obama School Discipline Policy [that] was to report fewer arrests, suspensions”, etc.

The Broward County school district’s adoption of a school discipline policy that was praised by the Obama administration for seeking to reduce the reported number of school suspensions, expulsions, and arrests may have played a role in the fact that Nikolas Cruz remained under the radar until his shooting rampage in Parkland, Florida, on February 14.

 “The facts pattern that has emerged strongly suggests it played a role,” Manhattan Institute senior fellow Max Eden tells Breitbart News. “It’s not actually accurate to say that what Broward County did was the result of the Obama policy.  

It might be more accurate to say that what Broward County did was in some way the inspiration for Obama’s policy.”

 The Obama-era Departments of Education and Justice – under education secretary Arne Duncan and Attorney General Eric Holder-issued school guidelines in 2014 that claimed students of color are “disproportionately impacted” by suspensions and expulsions, a situation they said leads to a “school-to-prison pipeline” that discriminates against minority and low-income students.

 “Broward County was the first to have the goal of lowering suspensions, lowering expulsions, lowering arrests,” explains Eden. 

“And, so, they decided to reduce police involvement by not bringing in cops to arrest kids for a whole range of serious offenses, and then, as you would expect, the arrests go down when you stop arresting. That was taken to be a sign of success, based on that metric alone.” Continue reading

Yesterday, March 2, 2018, was Billy Graham’s funeral.

He touched the lives of countless people, including the households of both my husband and me when we were growing up.  Our parents, and we, listened to Billy Graham on the radio, and watched him on television, as he preached at many Crusades.

I was in high school when Billy Graham had a crusade in Denver.  That evening, to my surprise, I found myself walking down the many stairs, joining thousands of other people on the floor of the auditorium.  There I rededicated my heart and life to Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior.

Hundreds of millions of people in 185 countries, had their hearts touched and changed as Billy Graham preached the Word of God, and shared the love of Jesus, with grace, simplicity and truth.  We can’t know how many people’s lives have been changed by all those people who heard Billy Graham preaching, and then shared with others.  And people still hear his preaching at the Billy Graham website (

The late president of Colorado Christian University, Bill Armstrong, was my friend and political comrade for 40 years. We lost him on Independence Day two summers ago, ending an illustrious career as a senator, businessman, evangelist, educator, and Christian statesman.

Armstrong’s last big play was helping CCU’s public policy guy, Jeff Hunt, land candidate Donald Trump to keynote the 2016 Western Conservative Summit — the annual rally on the right that I launched after Bill dreamed it up.

Ever the dreamer, he was, and what a force. I sure miss the guy.  Sometimes, to clear my head when things get intense, I imagine writing him a letter. Here’s the latest one.

Dear Bill: Heaven being the idyllic place it is, you’re likely spared cable news, social media, and all the earth noise we put up with down here. Search online, and on the Table of Contents page of this site, for other information about SEL (Social Emotional Learning).  Social emotional learning (SEL) has been taking place in schools for decades, but SEL is now specifically named in the schools, and is touted as what education should be all about.

ESSA (federal education program) provides funding for SEL.  That is one result of ESSA being nationally implemented.  No, we have not gotten rid of Common Core and federal control of education.  You can find the following information online:

The list contains the specific programs (title and section number) for which ESSA funds may, potentially, be spent to support social-emotional learning (SEL) activities. 

For those programs in existence under No Child Left Behind (NCLB), funding levels are provided for FY 2016.

Also search this site for “ESSA”(Every Student Succeed Act) – the federal legislation that cemented Common Core into federal law.  Note:  people in Congress and the U.S. Department of Education deny what ESSA did — and instead they parrot words claiming ESSA eliminated Common Core — claiming that education is now decided on a local level.  That is not what happened.  People too often parrot what they are told, without finding out for themselves.  Search this site for “Betsy DeVos.”

Understanding what SEL actually is, will enlighten you about:
1) a main cause of the dumbing down of American education;
2)  the data-gathering on identified students and everyone that touches their lives;
3)  the collecting of personal data, and storing it with personal identifiers — then distributing that data at will;
4) and the mind and behavior control that is actively taking place in schools across the country.  [This is all Type #2 education, rather than Type #1 education – see Home Page of this site]
