0262_Jeffco Supt Glass pushing bad teacher resources and curriculum_ “Trump Era Chaos stirred up the hatred that already existed” (editorial by Roberta Sutton)_Blogs on corrupted AP US History_Link to Prager U video about SPLC

From Roberta’s letter:  “All of this is not BECAUSE Trump was elected, but his election has REVEALED what already existed.  The hatred and anti-Americanism was already there, . . . ”

The hateful supplemental material (Educator Resources) — recently recommended by Superintendent Jason Glass, for K-12 teachers in Jefferson County (Colorado) Public Schools —  is only an expansion of what public school children have been fed for years (this includes the teaching of AP U.S. History in recent years).

At the end of this blog post, is   1)  how to write and send letters to the editor; and 2) other blogs on this site, that talk about the superintendent’s new controversial resource list and curriculumNote:  The School Board of Education is supposed to decide on curriculum to be used in the classes — not the superintendent3)  list of blogs on this site about the AP U.S. History mess.

Trump Era Chaos”
Letter by Roberta Sutton

We’ve all noticed what chaos has emerged since Donald Trump’s election.

Right away there was a march of women against Trump who were wearing “Vagina Hats.”  There has been the surfacing of Antifa with their masked assailants, and their destruction and mayhem in Berkeley.  The NFL players have complaints about our police, and because of that, they  refuse to honor our nation and its flag and anthem.  All of them “attack” the President.

All of this is not BECAUSE Trump was elected, but his election has REVEALED what already existed.  The hatred and anti-Americanism was already there, but it was stirred up and brought to the fore because someone with a different belief than theirs was in charge—and Trump was going to be leading the nation in a different direction—one they didn’t agree with. 0260_Is Jeffco committed to teaching “white guilt” in our K-12 classrooms? (by Kim Lawrence Gilmartin)_

An October 17, 2017 post by Kim Lawrence Gilmartin

During John Newkirk’s presentation this morning, he told of an October 16, 2017 post by Kim Lawrence Gilmartin.  See Blog Post 0259 for companion piece.

Her post can be read in a printable pdf on this site, is liked here to her post, and can be read below:

Is Jeffco committed to teaching “white guilt” in our K-12 classrooms?

Having grown up in our post-60s world, I have admired the words of Martin Luther King, who professed his “dream,” that we should all be judged by something other than the color of our skin. Specifically, MLK spoke to a group of civil rights marchers in DC: “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.” Of course he was right, which is easy for most of us to recognize today in retrospect. Skin color should have absolutely zero bearing on the world we live in.

And so it’s worth asking another question of my fellow citizens in Jeffco Colorado: Did you know that our new Jefferson County Schools Superintendent, Jason Glass, has taken a stance that advocates Jeffco schools should teach our kids about “white privilege?” In fact, Glass believes our children need to know the “importance of examining their whiteness: It’s impossible to see the privilege and dominance associated with white racial identity without acknowledging that whiteness.” That’s verbatim from the article “Why Talk About Whiteness” which Glass recommended in a list of “educator resources” he sent to EVERY teacher in our school system. He provided these “resources” for use in our classrooms to “address” hate and racism in America. And we are paying Glass over $1,000,000 in tax dollars over the next three years for this kind of “leadership.” Most people are not aware of this; but I think you should be.

This morning John Newkirk (former secretary of the Jeffco Board of Education) attended the High Country Republican Club breakfast (see Blog 0254).  He said that he has had the most vile negative responses to his recent opinion editorial — more irrational and raging responses than for any other of his articles over the past 2 years.   He says he has written many controversial articles before; but he must have hit a nerve! Newkirk-Opinion-Glass-9-2017

Let the superintendent hear from you, and send in a letter to the editor of the Canyon Courier, or other papers, letting them know you appreciate John’s opinion editorialhttp://www.canyoncourier.com/content/letter-editor

John Newkirk’s presentation was excellent this morning, which was no surprise.  He spoke about the arrogant disregard for rules that our Superintendent Glass has displayed.  Read Superintendent Glass’ letter.

See Blog 0257 for 2017-08 message to jeffco schs on charlottesville va on this subject and comments.  These letters were sent to all legislators, and Representative Tim Leonard forwarded the document to me.  The second letter from Superintendent Glass has his recommended Charlottesville Educator Resource Guide, for new K-12 curriculum, which went to all teachers in the school district. 0257_Colorado Rep. Tim Leonard reports Jeffco School Superintendent Glass to impose new across-the-board left-wing curriculum–letters–links to new resource list to accompany new curriculum

Colorado Representative Tim Leonard has done us a service, by alerting us to “abuse in the classroom” being expanded through “new” curriculum being imposed on all grades from K-12 — claiming to be in response to events at Charlottesville.  Our Jeffco Public Schools Superintendent justifies his unilateral imposition of the “new” curriculum, and says he is doing it because Jeffco Schools wants children to have an “authentic learning experience.”

In his September 28, 2017 letter, Superintendent Glass links to the Educator Resources for the new curriculum.   If you read through the resource guide, it is evident the children are being pushed to hate.  The curriculum and resources are from a destructive radical left-wing viewpoint.  EVERYTHING is hateful.  Teaching children to hate in the name of fighting hatred, is ridiculous.  Groups recommended as a resource, have an obvious left-wing bias that you can see on their websites – and the curriculum focuses on hate, negativity, and censorship.  Go to Blog 0261 on this website, for a video by Prager University, explaining who the SPLC (Southern Poverty Law Center) is.

You can link to the Educator Resources document, which has live links to most of the groups being used for Superintendent Glass’ new curriculum content — and examples of their curriculum plans.  Note the international, not American, emphasis on some sites.

How do children learn to be kind and loving?

Children learn to be loving and kind by witnessing love and kindness — not by being shown  negative ugliness over and over every day.  Those behind this curriculum know exactly what they are doing!  They are conditioning our children through this curriculum (and all other curriculum that is like it), to hate and to act out their hatred — beginning in kindergarten.  [Note:  they have influence in preschool and day care as well.]

Subject: Fwd: Message to Jeffco Public Schools community regarding Charlottesville, VA

To some interested Jeffco Public School folks,

The message below was sent to me on 16 August as a parent of children in Jeffco public schools from the new Superintendent Jason Glass.  It informed me that he has decided to introduce new curriculum into the Jeffco schools in all grades in order to use the events at Charlottesville for an “authentic learning experience” for the children.

Twelve days later on 28 Aug, I was sent another more detailed message as a Jefferson County Legislator explaining the significant amount of interpretive information the Superintendent’s “curriculum and instructional team has pulled together for educators” regarding the violence.  I have included this email information for you as well.  “Bill Bennett Touts Trump Has More Conservative Cabinet Than Reagan”
By Dr. Susan Berry

 http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2017/10/13/bill-bennett-touts-trump-conservative-cabinet-reagan/

Dr. Bill Bennett, secretary of education under President Ronald Reagan, told attendees at the Values Voter Summit Friday that President Donald Trump’s Cabinet is a “more conservative cabinet” than Reagan’s Cabinet was.

Bennett – now a radio host and author – specifically named current Education Secretary Betsy DeVos “my friend … who is fighting to empower parents,” as an example of conservatism, and defended her signature policy of school choice.

However, both Bennett and DeVos have come under fire from many conservative parents throughout America for their support – mentioned or otherwise – for the Common Core standards. The movement to eradicate the federally funded and supported Common Core has been led by one of the most significant “populist” grassroots efforts in decades.

As Breitbart News reported in 2014, Bennett drew the ire of anti-Common Core parents throughout the country after penning an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal that made a “conservative case for Common Core.”

In his column, Bennett reiterated all the “talking points” of the pro-Common Core education establishment. His remarks – especially from one who served in Reagan’s Cabinet under a president who had desired to eliminate the U.S. Education Department (USED) – led to an uproar. Ultimately, Bennett admitted that public relations, lobbying, and business consulting firm DCI Group had paid him to write the column. Continue reading

“New Jeffco Superintendent Widening the Great Divide”
by John Newkirk

Author’s note: A number of legislators have contacted me about a suggested curriculum put forth by our new school superintendent — and I was not the only one surprised by its one-sidedness.  My resulting Opinion column appeared in the Courier newspapers on 9/20/2017:

Newly-seated Jeffco Public Schools superintendent Jason Glass certainly wasted no time in thrusting our students into the political mosh pit. Continue reading

Our academic system in the United States is designed to keep students focused only on what the system wants them to know, or feel, or do.  They are not equipped to make their own decisions, but rather to carry out the wishes of the “education” system.

0245_Aug. 14, 2017 Who is to Blame for Charlottesville?–by Donna Garner_Articles Donna Garner attached that illustrate the dangers of the Common Core agenda

August 18, 2017

In this article, Donna Garner explains how the Charlottesville situation is a product of the Obama Administration’s  anti-American Common Core agenda.

At the end of her article are some resources Donna Garner sent out that reveal some background behind the problems — going back to the Common Core curriculum, which supporters of Common Core wrongly kept insisting was not curriculum.

Who was involved in the deplorable and violent events in Charlottesville, Virginia this last weekend?  Our nation witnessed Black Lives Matter, White Supremacists, Anti-Trumpsters, Neo-Nazis, and the KKK yelling, screaming, fighting, cussing, destroying property, venting their rage, killing protesters, maiming bystanders, and injuring first responders.

What do these groups all have in common?  They are all products of our culture, one in which the majority of our nation’s K-16 students have been indoctrinated by the Obama administration’s anti-American Common Core and the leftwing professors who populate our colleges and universities. Aided by the Democrats and the leftist media, our nation is now “reaping the whirlwind.”

“too many public schools no longer focus on imparting academic knowledge. Rather, egged on by the federal government and private players, they consider children to be patients in need of treatment to dislodge personality characteristics that don’t match the government’s preferred profile.”

“Mental Health Assessments or Standardized Testing? Lines Are Blurring.” – by Emmett McGroarty

This piece was co-authored by Jane Robbins, an attorney and senior fellow at the American Principles Project.

In The Wall Street Journal recently, New Hampshire physician Dr. Aida Cerundolo blew the whistle on faux mental-health assessment of public-school students in the Granite State. Some K-8 students are being subjected to blanket screening by untrained, unlicensed personnel, with serious questions about use or protection of the resulting records. And parents not only haven’t consented to this process, they haven’t even been told it’s happening. Continue reading

0002_Feb. 8, 2014 – Mayhem caused by Union, Cindy Stevenson and Democrat School Board members

November 7, 2013, Superintendent Cindy Stevenson
announces she will be leaving her position as superintendent
June 30, 2014.

YouTube – On Nov. 7, 2013, Cindy Stevenson announces ahead of time that she is retiring.  The announcer in the video below gives the information that she said her last day would be June 30, 2014.

The above tearful event, on November 7, 2013, (2 days after the election of the 3 new board members) is a sight familiar to people who have attended Jeffco Board of Education meetings over the years when Cindy Stevenson was superintendent.  Stevenson has displayed a lot of emotional tears during board meetings.

Then Superintendent Stevenson asked to be relieved of her commitment
to stay on until the end of June – leaving almost 5 months early.
She had another job.

There was a school board meeting February 8, 2014.  Among other things that the board members had wanted to accomplish at that meeting, was settling the separation pay agreement that Stevenson requested take place.   She wanted to leave almost 5 months before she had agreed to stay.  She would instead abruptly leave the school district children, and leave the school board with the task of replacing her over four months before they expected.  This caused them to turn much of their focus off other important end-of-the-school-year things, and school district matters.

But Stevenson and the democrats on the school board, in concert with the PTA and the unions, wanted to accomplish something much greater.   They were beginning their war to win a recall in early November of the following year.  They orchestrated a mob situation, and forced the meeting to end after Stevenson made her disingenuous, tearful scene.
