Two years, one month, and one week ago, on July 28, 2015, I posted my first blog on this website.

A listing of all the posts can be found in the Table of Contents — each entry in the Table of Contents has a link to the corresponding blog post.

The Home Page shows what is wrong with education —
and
the most critical thing to understand
in order to reverse the decline in education today – and to save our nation.

How do we fix the rapid decline in the education of too many people who do not graduate, and too many who do graduate from High Schools, Colleges and Universities?

It is not the condition of the buildings and other facilities — it is not the talent and good intentions and dedication of highly trained and competent teachers, administrators, counselors, teacher librarians, and all the support staff — it is not the freedom to choose the school a child attends (especially if all schools have Type #2 education) — it is not the amount of interest of the parents, or of the students — it is not computerizing all education and gathering more and more data on children, families, teachers, etc. — it is not simply emphasis on certain subjects like sports, music, art, science, technology, mathematics, language arts, reading, writing — it is not focus on becoming a global citizen — it is not in forcing all students to accept everything that students do and believe (unless they are politically incorrect).  Standardizing all attitudes, values, beliefs and behaviors is not the answer, either — and training children to want to change their sexual identity will not improve education standards.

The thing that really matters is THE TYPE OF EDUCATION BEING TAUGHT IN THE CURRICULUM — THE CONTENT.  Type #2 education is taking over our country — to the detriment of everyone.  We need a shift back to Type #1.

What is Cultural Marxism_YouTube_Transcription

Below is a YouTube that explains Cultural Marxism:

Transcript of the above YouTube:

On the screen:  What is Cultural Marxism?

Let us begin with a very terse description: Cultural Marxism is a broad term which refers to the advocacy and application of critical theory, and more generally to the cultural, political, and academic influence of certain elements within the contemporary Left.

The roots of Cultural Marxism are to be found in what is commonly known as the Frankfurt School.

The term arose informally to describe the thinkers affiliated, or merely associated with, the Frankfurt Institute for Social Research at the Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany, during the interval period.

Critical of both Capitalism and Soviet Socialism, they sought to address the perceived shortcomings of Classical Marxism in the pursuit of societal change.  Their work came to be known as Critical Theory. Continue reading

0109_July 1, 2016_Sandra Stotsky writes: The Curriculum is Changing, Once Again Without Public Discussion_Preceeded by Donna Garner comments on Common Core’s Social Justice Agenda and Stotsky’s article

July 2, 2016

Once again, Donna Garner has given us a helpful introduction, and forwarded us a link to an excellent scholarly article.  She keeps  us up-to-date on the continual destruction of public schooling, through the devious debacle (disaster/failure) called Common Core State Standards (CCSS).

Below you can read Donna Garner’s helpful introduction and comments about Sandra Stotsky’s article, read some excerpts from the article, or here you can go straight to Sandra Stotsky’s scholarly article talking about the secret changes to Common Core State Standards.

Note:   Since the beginning of Obama’s administration, he, some people under him, and some people of his choosing, have been using our tax dollars to coerce elected officials into forcing the country into Common Core State Standards.  Common Core deliberately dumbs down our public school children, and constantly indoctrinates them into the social justice agenda.

See more about the social justice agenda in Donna Garner’s email below.

CURRICULUM CHANGING AGAIN WITHOUT PUBLIC DISCUSSION – BY SANDRA STOTSKY – 7.1.16

7.1.16 – NewBostonPost.com

[COMMENTS FROM DONNA GARNER:  Dr. Sandra Stotsky is a brilliant education expert and researcher.  Because of her stellar background, she was chosen by the Obama administration to validate the research behind the Common Core Standards.

Neither she nor Dr. Jim Milgram, an expert mathematician at Stanford University, signed off on the Common Core Standards because there was no independent, peer-reviewed, replicated research nor any international benchmarking to prove that the Common Core Standards were a credible improvement over the traditional forms of education. In fact, David Coleman known as the “architect of the Common Core” never taught school a day in his life.

Dr. Stotsky’s article (posted below) contains critical information, one of which is that the Common Core Standards force schools away from the great classic pieces of literature and into the reading of snippets of “informational text.”  CCS has forced the teaching of writing into what CCS calls “evidence-based writing.”  Most experienced English teachers know that students learn to be better writers when they are heavily exposed to classic authors who are great writers – not so with CCS.
