0094_The Issue is Totalitarianism – Excerpt from Derrick Wilburn’s newsletter

Derrick Wilburn sent out an email ten days ago.  In it he addresses the issue that is of great concern to so many people across our country.  Totalitarianism.  People and groups are being forced, bribed and coerced into bowing down and throwing out personal beliefs, freedoms and rights — forced to get out of the way of those who insist on imposing their will — and living in fear of the government threat to destroy, if you are in the way.

[Excerpt from Derrick’s May 10th letter:]

“totalitarianism: a political system where the state recognizes no limits to its authority and strives to regulate every aspect of public and private life wherever feasible.

“The problem, those of us who have strong disagreement with Barack Obama, isn’t just ideology — people have had differing political ideologies forever– its totalitarianism. The striving for the fundamental changes he believes America needs, whether the rest of us …those he’s elected to *represent*… also want that change or not.

“A letter last week by the President of Oklahoma Wesleyan University is short and a perfect case-in-point. Read it HERE.  It spotlights the fact that the Obama admin is using the Dept. of Ed to force schools into compliance with their wishes for social change and re-engineering of our culture. “Do as we say or lose your funding.”  [editor note:  The linked letter will be in Post 0095]

“Its not just the Dept of Ed. The EPA, BLM, IRS, DOD + seemingly most federal agencies are doing variations of the exact same thing. Telling institutions, both public & private, change to the way we dictate or you’ll come under attack one way or another. . .”

I believe it is terribly wrong and dangerous, that public school students aren’t taught about the rationale behind the decisions made by our Founding Fathers, which led to the design of the Constitutional Republic that we received from them.  Most students today don’t appreciate the fact that our form of government was designed to protect us from government leaders that have unlimited brutal control over citizens.

Students in this country are taught that the government should punish bad behavior, and reward good behavior.  They are taught that they should not be concerned that people in government are controlling people’s lives.  It would be a safe guess, based on what I know about curriculum and what goes on in classrooms, that most students probably don’t even know what Totalitarianism is.  In general, their history is censored.  What they hear and don’t hear is increasingly controlled.

In most public schools across the country, students are taught that  socialism (the next step before communism) is a good thing.  And because they don’t know what socialism really is, many young people are happy to support an open socialist for president.  In fact they have been trained to believe that socialism is preferred to our constitutional republic.

Quote by Nikita Khrushchev:

You Americans are so gullible. No, you won’t accept communism outright, but we’ll keep feeding you small doses of socialism until you’ll finally wake up and find you already have communism. We won’t have to fight you. We’ll so weaken your economy until you’ll fall like overripe fruit into our hands.” — Nikita Khrushchev – 1959

Khruchev was the leader of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, from 1953 to 1964. [the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (U.S.S.R.) – 1922-1991]

Sad to say, many parents, who have gone through the government school system, aren’t aware of the huge down side of socialism either.

For a long time, our “government” has been working hard to force people to suck up (or change) their personal opinions and beliefs, in order to go along with whatever is forced on them.  Actually “government” is not a person.  The control of our government has been taken over by people — people who have gathered government control for themselves.

In the past, citizens who may have agreed with the opinions being forced on others, didn’t realize that they were unwise to encourage allowing government to have that control over citizens.  That same government control can be used against all citizens, at the whim of those who are in control.

For far too long, people in our country have been pushing for government handouts, turning over  their responsibilities to “experts” and putting all their trust in people — giving away their own freedom and liberty.

I hope it’s not too late for us to take back the control that individuals in our country are supposed to have.
