1.  County Commissioners to vote soon – we’re under “old rule” – intentions behind AFFH
2. Introduction and the Video:_AFFH in Five Minutes R2 11080_ Video Transcript

   1.  This blog piece is an introduction to AFFH (Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing)

Our Colorado Jefferson County county commissioners will vote before April 30th, whether to accept HUD AFFH grant money.  Become informed, and encourage them not to accept HUD/AFFH funds.

This movie and transcript deal specifically with the new rule.

Since our county set up our five-year plan last year, we aren’t under the “new” AFFH rule.  Some people think that means we don’t have to worry, but the truth is that HUD has been testing the waters since 2009, to see how much control they can take.

In 2009, they first chose to go after the county of Westchester in New York.  The litigation and efforts to comply have taken 7 years, and it looks like they may not have paid enough.  They may have to continue integrating people into their communities, and building and financing, more government subsidized high rises.  Below is a sample paragraph from an article by Mark Lungariello about the expense and grief Westchester has gone through: all because they accepted grand money from HUD through AFFH.

“The benchmark was the centerpiece of a landmark 2009 settlement with the federal government in which the county agreed to build the housing in 31 of its richest and statistically whitest communities — and take other steps to promote affordable housing in the region.” Continue reading

I have been enjoying a lovely time with one of our three sons, his wife, and their three children.  It makes me so happy to know they are decent, God-loving, kind, courteous, considerate, productive, giving, responsible citizens.  They put careful thought into their decisions and actions – and are a blessing to everyone they come in contact with.  The same can be said of another one of our sons, his wife and children – and also of our third son.

What a contrast they are to our society that is generally falling apart at the seams.

This destruction of our country was carefully orchestrated:  Agenda and Agenda 2

What makes all this “falling apart at the seams” so terribly sad is that the demise of our country has been carefully planned and implemented.  Look at the blogs linked above – to find some discussion about the documentaries, find a link to a trailer, and learn how to purchase the documentaries Agenda and Agenda 2These DVD documentaries made by Curtis Bowers, spell out, in clear detail, the history of a real agenda to destroy America.

Several weeks ago, as my husband and I were leaving the Wendy’s parking lot in our neighborhood, we saw a sign posted at the end of the driveway.  My husband stopped the car so I could get out to read it and take pictures.  There it was – a public notice of an up-coming hearing to discuss a possible 40+ unit apartment building to be built next to Wendy’s.  The plan was to build it where there was a tennis court area covered by a big white “bubble” – right in the center of a middle-class neighborhood.

Several days later some friends attended the meeting that was posted on that sign, and reported that the apartment building was going to be government-subsidized housing.  It was to provide for the poor people who could not afford to drive up from the city to work in our small unincorporated town.  They would be brought to live in our neighborhood, take jobs from local people, and attend our schools . . . 0133_My heart grieves at our loss of Phyllis Schlafly_she always stood up strong for God, family and our country_Audio and Visual Links_ YouTubes _ by Donna Jack

Dear Friends,

Yesterday one of my all-time heroes Phyllis Schlafly, left us, and is now in heaven.  She has been a great inspiration to me almost all my adult life.

Many years ago I used to listen to her radio broadcasts, and just learned today that she has been speaking regularly on the radio ever since 1983 – and was still broadcasting up until she died.

In 1972 the “Equal Rights Amendment” (ERA) was passed in both houses of Congress, and was then sent to the states for ratification.  The deadline for ratification was March 22, 1979.  Phyllis mobilized conservative women and men across the country, showing them how the ERA would actually hurt housewives and families.  I attended a debate at Denver University during that time.  She was extraordinary in the debate, as she made her case against “the Equal Rights Amendment.”  Thanks to her brilliant unceasing efforts, combined with the efforts of others standing up across the country, that destructive amendment was stopped.  Typically, the Left didn’t quit — and they have continued their destructive agenda. 0105_“The Dark Side of Student Data Mining: It’s ineffective and puts children’s privacy at risk” By Karen R. Effrem, MD on June 3, 2016

From the article below:  “Proven methods of education — teaching by human beings, plus focus on handwriting, classic literature, standard algorithms, and actual content knowledge — instead of skills-training and constant invasive psychological manipulation and assessment, are what already available data shows are effective.”

Schools keep using failed methods, and yet keep insisting on more money, bigger and better buildings to house students and teachers, with total control and secrecy.

Parents have no access to the school world of their own children.  In fact parents are, and  have been for several decades, considered the people who the students must be protected from.

“The Dark Side of Student Data Mining: It’s ineffective and puts children’s privacy at risk”

By Karen R. Effrem, MD on June 3, 2016

Janice Gobert’s recent op-ed in US News & World Report is another classic example of the huge disconnect between parents and the big government and corporate education-technology “Big Data” machine. Big Data seems to believe computers can teach children better than teachers or parents. It also claims entitlement to constant data from our children, including psychological data, handsomely profiting corporations and government but destroying privacy and the student-teacher interaction, all without evidence of effectiveness. This is why informed parents and teachers in droves are rejecting the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), Common Core State Standards (CCSS), high-stakes testing, and “competency based” (“individualized”) education. 0094_The Issue is Totalitarianism – Excerpt from Derrick Wilburn’s newsletter

Donna Jack
May 20, 2016

Derrick Wilburn sent out an email ten days ago.  In it he addresses the issue that is of great concern to so many people across our country.  Totalitarianism.  People and groups are being forced, bribed and coerced into bowing down and throwing out personal beliefs, freedoms and rights — forced to get out of the way of those who insist on imposing their will — and living in fear of the government threat to destroy, if you are in the way.

[Excerpt from Derrick’s May 10th letter:]

“totalitarianism: a political system where the state recognizes no limits to its authority and strives to regulate every aspect of public and private life wherever feasible.

“The problem, those of us who have strong disagreement with Barack Obama, isn’t just ideology — people have had differing political ideologies forever– its totalitarianism. The striving for the fundamental changes he believes America needs, whether the rest of us …those he’s elected to *represent*… also want that change or not.

“A letter last week by the President of Oklahoma Wesleyan University is short and a perfect case-in-point. Read it HERE.  It spotlights the fact that the Obama admin is using the Dept. of Ed to force schools into compliance with their wishes for social change and re-engineering of our culture. “Do as we say or lose your funding.”  [editor note:  The linked letter will be in Post 0095] Continue reading

0093_Memorial to Treon Goossen — from Donna Jack_The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost (YouTube)

May 14, 2016

Four days ago, on Tuesday, May 10th, I woke up with phrases in my mind from the poem The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost.  Quickly I hurried to my computer to begin writing.  You can read Frost’s poem printed at the end of this blog, or listen to a reading of The Road Not Taken here.

Treon Goossen is one of the finest women I have had the privilege of knowing.  She left this world May 9th.

The Road Not Taken was one of Treon’s favorite poems.  It was printed in the program that was given out at a beautiful service held yesterday in her memory.

Treon  lived a life of love, “tirelessly advocating for freedom and rights of families in Colorado” (a quote from her memorial service program).

She was always an inspiration and joy to her husband and seven children, and to all of her family.  Yesterday, even in the midst of their great sorrow, it was easy to see the admiration and love all her family members have for Treon; and to see the comfort they have, knowing she is in heaven with Jesus, her Savior.

Not only has Treon inspired her family, but she has inspired so many other people who were in her life — as well as those who simply knew about her.  Near the end of the service yesterday, some of her family members walked up front to speak about Treon first.  Then others who knew her or knew about her, went up front to share about Treon and how she has touched their lives.

People in Colorado and across the country have benefited, and will continue to benefit, from Treon’s life.

Her family will continue to carry on her legacy with gratitude, love and joy.
